Platinum question

Just checking in with everyone….it’s been about 4 years since we have been on a carnival ship.  We are currently on the Vista having a great time.  Just out of curiosity….normally we get a ship pin and some sort of trinket gift for being platinum.  Has that officially stopped now?  We haven’t received any as of yet so I am just asking to confirm.  Thanks

You have to go to pixels and get it. Just need your room key!

If you want the platinum chocolate delight you have to call room service and ask for that. And any bar for the water bottle you get for being platinum. And you get a 25 dollar casino credit at the Casino cage. You have to be proactive to get all your benefits now.

I've Been forgetting about the casino credit and the Chocolate delight! So when I call and ask for it, will it automatically recognize that I'm Platinum and not charge me?

I called room service to order the cocolate delight and mentioned it is being a platinum benefit to make sure I wasn't charged. I just got off the Spirit last weekend and there were no chocolate strawberries this time. Don't know if it is permanently gone or they were out of strawberries. It had 2 chocolates, two macaroons, and two cheesecake like circular shaped pastries.

Not necessarily true. My friend used the two bottles of water in his cabin as his two "free" ones and was charged. Argued with Guest Services and they told him he would not get those charges removed. He ended up paying for those two bottles of water.

If only Carnival could figure out a way to be consistent in their stated policy and their actual policy as it is enforced at the whim of each individual ship.

Do bars even have 1.5L water bottles? I'd have guessed not.

Yes, the bars have the big bottles, we usually use one of the ones in the room, and replace

it with one from the bar, but make sure the steward does not report it as used, so you won't

get charged.

Yes Mardi Gras did have them and I would rather do it that way than to assume taking the bottles left in the stateroom.

If you’re not a strawberry fan or if you’re allergic, ask for a plate of cookies.  They give you 4 big cookies.

Thanks for this tip, I would rather have the large cookies than the strawberries anyway. 😀

There is a QR code in the room to scan that provides all the information on where to get each item. Also you should have received an email 1-2 weeks before the cruise that has all the details.

The trouble is some people, like nwcruiselover in the post above yours, report being told just the opposite. If they'd only follow their own rules on it you could do either.

Hopefully there will be a QR code in the room clarifying how my ship (Magic) does it.

If I am plat and wife is not, do both of us (cabin) receive plat benefits, like laundry, or is it only that card holder?

and you can send her laundry with yours in your bag, but you'll just get 3, not 6 on a 7 dayer

You can use OBC to purchase it before your cruise at a cheaper rate, so not sure why you want to wait until you're onboard.

For some reason I thought you couldn’t use OBC until on board. Definitely not wanting to pay more!

Yes, OBC can be used prior to boarding.  When you order something in your planner you have the option to use OBC or pay by credit card.
