Boston's Sumner Tunnel closed this summer

One would not be using the Sumner Tunnel to go from the airport to the cruise port, or the other way.

I flew back to Logan the first weekend last year when the Sumner was closed. It took me an hour to get from the parking garage to the Ted William tunnel. It should have taken 10 minutes, max.

With that being said, it's really a straight shot from the port to the airport. I wouldn't be too concerned, just make sure you have enough time. The only direct public transportation would be the Silver Line, which is a bus and would be stuck in the same traffic.

The tunnels have been a mess during the closures this year, regardless of which way you are trying to go. In my experience, it's probably added 20ish minutes leave the airport heading home - I haven't been traveling to the airport when they are closed.

The most obvious public transit from the Seaport to the Airport is the SL1, which unfortunately uses the same tunnels as cars.
