Before/During Request Elite+ Dining Discount

I booked a few nights of specialty dining, online, for a future cruise.  Should I call to request the 15% off Elite+ discount or wait until I'm on the ship?  I usually like to do everything before I start my vacation, but waiting on the phone for an hour+ and having someone fuss with my reservations causes me pause.  I wish they'd just automatically apply it.  TIA

No discount if you pre-book, tried calling and answer was no. We were told the restaurant or Guest Services could  give us the discount as OBC.  Guest Service & the restaurants said the discount is only available if booked on board.

I know some have had success getting the discount as OBC on the ship but for us 3 different ships, 7 reservations and the only time we got the discount was the 1 we booked once on the ship.
