Do you have to book a time for "My time dining" or can you be spontaneous? Also who decides where and with whom the sit with?

Depends on the cruise line  I guess

Our preferred line you can show up during open hours

You can dine  alone  or share a table with others

Since you said "My Time", I think you mean Royal Caribbean ... but, for all I know, other lines may use that same term.

- You can make reservations quite early using the Royal Caribbean app on your phone.

- Earlier times tend to go faster.

- The smart thing is to make a reservation for each evening, then change it if you decide to do so.

- They don't seem to be all that fussy about you being 15 minutes or so early /late.

- They have one line for people with reservations, another for people without reservations -- the reservation line is significantly shorter.

- We always had a two-person table.
