Passport length for San Francisco Ensenada cruise

Hi

We're booked to go on a short cruise from San Francisco to Ensenada and back in June.

One of my kids passport expires in November.  Does anyone know if they require you to have the 6 months validity on your passport for this cruise?

Carnival's website says they recommend having the 6 months but doesn't say it's definitely required - just don't want to be stuck not being able to get on.

Thanks

You shouldnt have a problem with that at all. We cruised several years ago with a passport that was about 2 months away from expiring and they didnt even bat an eye about it. We did take her birth cert as a back up but noone ever asked to see it.

With a closed loop cruise, your passport is generally only needed to prove identity at check-in unless something goes wrong. For that purpose as long as the passport isn't expired you're fine.

The six month rule is a country by country rule. Some require it some don’t.

And Mexico does not.
Another thing in your favor is any cruise originating and ending in the same US Port only requires a government ID and your birth certificate.
So relax and enjoy. The passport is valid. And if you still have a little lingering doubt then bring your birth certificate also.
