Gregrat Posted March 4, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2023 Lee Ann and I will be on the Serenity, July 2nd 2024 cruise to Alaska sailing out of Vancouver. We are flying in 3 days early to explore the city. Any suggestions on what can’t be missed while in Vancouver? Greg

ChatKat in Ca. Posted March 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2023 In Vancouver, We enjoyed Granville Island, Stanley Park, The Capilano Suspension Bridge, and walking around Downtown from Canada Place. My husband also had a pickpocket experience while we were there in one of our visits, so be aware when you are walking around. We've been there about 5-6 times. We've stayed at Canada Place and also in North Vancouver at a B&B. There are some very good places to dine as well.
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 5, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2023 If your cruise does not include Victoria Island i would go over there. The downtown area is charming and there is Butchart Gardens to spend a few hours strolling. I would visit Stanley Park which you can walk to from downtown. About a 45 minute walk and also walk around Gaston (downtown) and Canada Place where the ships dock. Also visit Granville, Island. A nice place to walk and to enjoy lunch or dinner. What high speed ferry are you referring to? FYI - there isn't one! BC Ferries is the only ferry and it is a 1.5 hour sailing with additional time getting to the ferry terminal on each side. Its basically a 10-14 hour day.
