Flight Ease and Hotel

So I recently booked air thru Flight Ease.  The next day, our TA sent me via email an updated Booking Confirmation with the flights added.  Also, when I go back in to Flight Ease (thru the HAL website), I can view/change/edit the flight.

Unfortunately, flights and hotels no longer show up on the online itinerary.  Why HAL decided to take those out, I don't know.  It made sense to have them there and it made it easy for their "valued guests" to find information.

Booked Flight Ease and pre-cruise hotel package for an upcoming cruise in June 2023 out of Copenhagen.  My flights to Copenhagen mysteriously disappeared, with HAL website stating that flights had changed and HAL was in the process of rebooking.  Well, two months later, HAL still has not rebooked and final payment is due March 31.

The same thing happened to us last year for our Venice Oosterdam cruise. I immediately called FE and they rebooked us on alternative flights with no extra cost. We were booked in Business class. You need to Call FE ASAP.  All airlines are making so many changes on flights that you need to keep up with them yourselves and not depend on HAL or your TA to inform you. Our flights to FLL in June on American have changed and we booked directly but after two weeks we have not been notified by AA about the changes, I only found them by checking my online bookings with AA. Fortunately, the changes made by AA are acceptable and the seats they assigned on the changed flights were better than the original one.

We just had a similar experience. Our flights to FLL on April 3 for the 150th Anniversary transatlantic showed a "schedule change, check back later" error message when I looked at Flight Ease last week. And our reservation had disappeared from the Delta website. I tried putting in the airline locator code, but no such reservation existed as far as Delta was concerned. Our return flights from Amsterdam (on a separate HAL booking #) were still there.

So in a bit of a panic I call the Flight Ease number (800-628-4771, note that you must choose option 3 or you will get routed to regular reservations and they will simply tell you to call the 4771 number 🙄). I gave my tale of woe to a helpful lady who said she would check into it and put me on hold. After several minutes, she came back on and said all was fixed! I asked what caused the problem, but did not get a clear response. It seemed like maybe some computer glitch in my case? Anyhoo, the flights were back on the Flight Ease and Delta sites with the original locator codes. We did loose our seat assignments (and FE offered to help with that), but I chose to redo them on the Delta site.

So, other than the initial panic attack, it was not a particularly big deal in our case. Maybe I just caught it quickly enough. I guess it pays to keep checking; I can't imagine the stress if I discovered this when going online to check in for the flights!

We had several changes on our Transatlantic flight from Madrid back to Florida.  We kept getting the same message about the changes and that FE would update soon.  Well, it didn't and next thing you know our flights had been cancelled supposedly by American for non-payment.  Not sure what caused this, but you really need to keep an eye on the flights on the airline side.  Don't wait for HAL to notify you, because that takes much longer, if they do.  We eventually got new flights at our original price, but not without a huge hassle.

One never knows for sure with HAL Flight Ease. I have seen too many problems with Flight Ease and swore I would not do it but when I booked a month ago our flights to Seattle for an Alaska cruise and found good prices for First Class on Delta, I snapped it up. (Keeping my fingers crossed I did not make a mistake in doing this) They are non- stop so figured we should be OK. They showed up right away on Delta and showed the normal pending or what ever it stated knowing it was not ticketed. But interestingly enough this past week I looked on Delta and it shows Confirmed and Ticketed. Could be because they are first class and prices went back up, could be because I have paid 75% of the cost of the cruise, air and hotel to HAL, I do not know for sure but I can say that the 45 days and 30 days are not a hard fast rule. I think some depends on the class of ticket it is. Guessing that HAL needed to lock it in by paying for it.

I am booked on the 16 day TA in May on the Zuiderdam.  This is a complimentary casino cruise in a balcony so I was required to pay for cruise(port taxes, etc) AND airfare at the time of booking.  I booked my BC(Polaris, under $1400pp) airfare on United in November.  At this time since I was required to pay in full for ticket I requested ticketing.  It was done within 24 hours.  I did this online in my HAL account.  Daily I check my flight for any changes.  I've had a change of plane type, but no other changes so far.  I observed this is a regular route out of Amsterdam so I felt comfortable booking this far in advance.  For a one way in BC I had no choice but to use FE otherwise it is cost prohibitive.

Initial HAL representative contacted stated that e-ticket is issued to airline 45 days in advance but when I spoke to travel department representative about a separate issued, she stated that e-ticket is issued 30 days in advance?

Last year when we made final payment for our August cruise, the air was paid within a couple of days, per our request, and we had the e-ticket numbers.
