How to get from Trieste to Venice?

I took the train one way, and FlixBus the other.  Both take 2hrs.  And both are about a 20 minute walk to/from the pier in Trieste, or you can wait for a cab.

If you're staying in Venice, take the train to Venice S Lucia.

FlixBus drops off at the airport and at Tronchetto (a giant parking lot on the edge of Venice, where you catch a 3 minute monorail to Piazzale Roma). If you book in advance you can get a ticket for 5E.

I find it really convenient to search Google Maps -  First enter your originating port and then choose directions - enter Venice Train Station.

Google Map

At the top you will see symbols for Bus/Train.   When you select this you can put in the time you wish to leave or arrive and will show cost, train or bus numbers and time.   It's real time and great when traveling.

I highly recommend the train.  We did the reverse flew into Venice and took the train from Venice S Lucia to Trieste.  It was easy, and convenient as you will be on the grand canal when you exit the train station, affordable, and the views of the countryside are lovely.
