Fort Lauderdale or Brickell in Miami

Have a cruise in Jan, 2024 out of Miami ( one way Panama Canal Crossing).  Looking into air/lodging arraignments.  Can't decide on flying into Fort Lauderdale ( much cheaper than flying into Mia), spend 2-3 nights , then Ride share to Port of Miami on day of cruise.  OR  just bite the bullet, pay extra for the convince of flying into MIA.  Stay 2-3 nights at a hotel around Brickell ( I like that area), then rideshare to Port Of Miami on day of cruise.

There is very little difference between flying into FLL or MIA. This is like deciding to fly into JFK or LGA. So the flight has nothing to do with it.

As to where to spending a few nights. Up to you. But you can easily fly into FLL and rideshare to Brickell. It is a 30-45 min drive (other than morning rush hour).

Fort Lauderdale is great, but I would give my preference to Brickell/Miami. Better spot, especially if you don't plan on renting a car.
