Royal Upgrade

Has anyone bid the minimum for an upgrade and had it accepted?  It would be from inside balcony to ocean view balcony.

My husband put in a minimum bid for JS to GS for our Navigator cruise last February and it was accepted however, that was when cruising was not back to full ships. You never know though! I always put one in just in case! Good luck!

You can sift through the dozens of Royal Up threads (do a title limited search for that) for your answer -yes.

DD bid almost minimum, and was upgraded from Inside to OV (on a full ship), but that's our only experience with it.

Anything is possible however I would not count on it.

 

If maybe a 1/3 to 1/2 the ocean view balconies are available close to your sailing then chances are better.

I want to put the minimum bid on the Royal Suite from our Jr. Suite. Minimum’s only $110. DH won’t let me bid because he thinks it won’t be accepted. Not sure where his sense of adventure is.

You do realize that you only pay the $110 if it is accepted?   There is no risk in placing the bid.

I’m torn, too, actually. We have an aft Jr. Suite and I love it back there. I love the space of the balcony and how quiet it is.  The Royal Suite’s balcony is skinny and I’m worried about shade. So, I’m torn and that’s probably why he won’t “let” me bod. Because he thinks I’ll ultimately be unhappy. 😂
