Ovation of the Seas - Seapass cards

Question for those who have recently been on Ovation of the Seas.   Do they have pre-punched seapass cards left in your cabins on embarkation day?    Or can they punch a hole on your seapass cards?   On Ovation they use RFID cards wondering if they still punch holes or have pre-punched cards to figure out which type of lanyards to bring clip-on or pouch.

Since there is an antenna loop that runs around the edge of the card for power and transmission, you can not punch a hole in the card.

It can be punched if you know where to punch it at.  I take my own in case the crew won't do it for me.

 

Side note:  I hope Ovation has gotten a better stock of cards.  Mine back in May kept delaminating, I went through 3 of them.  That's three additional and otherwise unnecessary trips and waiting in line at the "Customer Service" desk.

Bring the latter. If any staff on Ovation ever punched the card, it was a very rare event.

Probably very true now!  I don't know if this info is still current but on this site or the other ......blog site, many people said that they have had luck going to the Casino, I think it was, and they will punch the card even if other locations won't.  Could be very outdated now.  But, why not check!

Just looked at my Ovation and Quantum cards from three months ago, no pre punched hole. As to the lack of quality concerning the cards, all four cards still look as if just issued. Cabin steward will place a white plastic card in the slot for lights on day one if asked.
