Giantfan13 Posted April 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2023 Maybe a different type of question on this topic. We are doing a cruise out of Civi in October 2023. I am looking to book a flight to Rome that would arrive late into Rome, maybe 8-9 PM. Is there transportation to Civi at that time of night (not by train)? It would be so much easier to go to Civi once we arrive and spend the night there instead of spending the night in Rome and getting to Civi first thing in the AM. CruiserBruce Posted April 10, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2023 I would stay at the Hilton in the airport, and go to Civi the next day.
Rare cruisemom42 Posted April 10, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2023 Not sure I’m seeing why it would be easier? You have to do the trip to Civi either way: when you’re exhausted or when you’re more rested. It’s only a 90 minute drive, at most. In many major US cities, that’s about the distance from the city center to the airport, yet I never hear my business colleagues saying they need to be near the airport on the night before flying out…. That all said, you should be able to arrange transportation but it would likely be the more expensive private transport, not a shared shuttle. CruiserBruce Posted April 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2023 Getting in at 8 or 9pm, jet lagged, then an hour to clear Immigration and claiming luggage...not a bad time to check in, hit the sack and try to adjust to the new time zone. Driving 90 minutes in the dark, I see falling asleep.
Giantfan13 Posted April 11, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted April 11, 2023 Thanks for the much-needed advice. I think I will heed the intelligent suggestions and book something by the airport for the night and head out in the AM. Cheers Len
