Geiranger, Norway RIB Boat Fjord Safari

Recommended Posts

We have a RIB trip from Flam booked for our trip next month.  My thinking from having been on similar trips elsewhere is that the experience of being on the fjords will be very different from a RIB (very close to the water and the feeling of speed that gives, able to get up close to the shore & waterfalls) than being on a cruise ship (much more leisurely pace, different viewpoint from the high decks, can't get too close to shore because of draught limitations / water depth).  Very much not the same thing.

This looks amazing ... I would have thought "No need to do RIB boat since we just came up the fjord on our cruise ship." But no - still worth doing?  Anyone go on this and afterward think "Meh, not so great. We just saw the fjord?"

Absolutely worth it. Just to feel the power coming from the Bachelor waterfall. WHen you are on the cruise ship you just don't get very close to anything and you see things from a different perspective. Most ppl sleep thru the Fjord passage since it is so early in the AM, or having dinner when we exit the Fjord.
