Combination beach day and SCUBA?

Traveling with my 88 year old mom and my sister - I am a diver and would like to find either a guided two tank dive or hire a dive master for a two tank dive but also would like a place my mom and sister can relax and enjoy the sun and beach - I’d plan to join them soon after. Any suggestions?

The premier beach on the island is West Bay Beach. There are heaps of dive operators at resorts that also offer day passes, Infinity Bay and Mayan Princess come to mind. But there are plenty of other dive shops on the beach.  I would recommend contacting a few dive shops on West Bay Beach to see what they can offer you.

Anthony’s Key or Turquoise Bay.

You could contact direct or Turquoise Bay has packages through the ship. I don’t know how timing would fit in with diving.

Does AKR have a beach?

I have not been to Turquoise Bay cause many people say the sand is like cement.  Clegs, have you been,  can you tell us differently?

I haven’t been to AKR but I know they offer a day pass and diving. It would be up to OP to research whether the facilities were suitable.

I have enjoyed a day at Turquoise Bay many years ago, before it was acquired by Mayan  Princess and before all the added and renovated facilities of recent years.

We will be on an Oceania ship - my mom is 88 and has some mobility and cognition issues - my sister will stay with her… but I doubt my mom would be able to walk through super deep sand…

I was planning on booking ship’s excursion to beach and just leaving from there and returning - never been to Roatan to dive - have been diving in Belize and Cayman Islands… not Roatan or Cozumel
