swansea_lad Posted April 14, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2023 Hi all I have noticed a great deal on Carnival Pride, from Dover UK, 9 nights for under £400 each for an inside cabin. I have yet to go on a cruise. Would Carnival be a good cruise to start? Thanks
staceyglow Posted April 15, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2023 Why not? I see you are from Europe, so you are already ahead of the game on getting there compared to Americans. I will have to say that type of cruise would not have the typical Carnival vibe. The average age is going to be older, and the emphasis is going to be more on the ports and destinations as opposed to fun on the ship. Even though Pride is an older ship. it is one of my favorites. It doesn't seem to be as crowded as some of the newer ones, and I like the layout.
SDPadreFan Posted April 15, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2023 I would say be aware of when schools let out for the summer in London. Apparently last year the roads to Dover turned into a real zoo with families heading to Dover to catch the ferries.
backbiter Posted April 15, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2023 Did that cruise last June. It was excellent. Fantastic itinerary, terrific service, great food and entertainment. Seems like an absolute bargain, so go for it!
shiner6 Posted April 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2023 I am on this cruise. I paid many times more for it.... so, yes, that is a great price and I would jump on it.

The itinerary was amazing. The food not so much.

Uk school summer holiday starts end of July so not a problem.
