HAL Rotterdam -- Panama Canal

We are deciding between 2 cabins on a PC sailing on HAL on the Rotterdam.  We are sailing Westbound on a partial transit through the Canal.

1) Fwd Facing Vista Suite (6001 or 6002)

--or-

2) Aft- Sunset Verandah (6235)

Obviously both would have amazing views in their own right.  The Fwd Vista Suite with huge wraparound balcony could be amazing when going through the locks but it is only 1 day of 12 -- and I wonder if the Aft (VS) balcony would be better (and $900 less).

Any thoughts would be appreciated!  Thx.

For $900 less I’m sure there will be other locations onboard where you can get a forward view going through the canal.  Do you know whether she will be using the new locks?  I believe there was a reason Koningsdam had to use the new locks.  Maybe something about the lifeboats.  Quite frankly, though interesting, the activity going through the new locks is. It nearly as dramatic as the old locks.  EM
