What's MSC's current policy if you test positive for Covid pre-cruise?

Yes I checked the website already. It's a bunch of out-of-date information that doesn't provide a clear answer.

Does anyone know what the current policy/procedures are? I assume they don't just say "Take some Nyquil and come aboard anyway!" Or do they?

On a ship right now.  A few days ago in Egypt it happened with 4 people. I was actually talking to the couple. They filled out the question form and they all got administered a Covid test.  2 passed 2 failed.  The two that passed got on the ship. The other 2 did not and were told to take it up with their insurance.

The couple that did get on wanted the other couples cabin and were told no??? Their reservations were linked they said

I'm with you personally, but if MSC's position is "take it up with insurance" they are - in essence - encouraging people with Covid to still board their ships.

You are correct.  That's how I see it.

This is a far stretch.  People need to be responsible and get insurance if they are worried about losing money.

I agree with MSC on this one.  Regardless of whether or not the cabins were linked, if they had not booked that specific cabin then then had zero claim to it, imo.

They're still going to induce people to say "I spent the damn money I'm going on a cruise." Insurance requires an in-person doctor visit - a photo of an at-home test won't cut it - so yeah the practical effect is encouraging sick people to sail anyway.
