Random question - bugs

Hi

 

Going on the Mayan Cruise on May 21st. This isn't really VV related as such, but do we need bug spray?! Ship, Bimini, Cancun, Miami?

The sand fleas a/k/a no-see-ums were pretty bad on Bimini last October, but we didn't experience any problems with them in February. Do yourself a favor, and don't wear anything perfumed.

We did the Chaccoben Mayan ruins tour on a Costa Maya stop and we did need a bit of bug spray walking through the woods between sections of ruins. Another sailor was kind enough to share.

Highly recommend wipes vs sprays. The sprays get everywhere whereas the wipes just get on your skin. Plus we've had cans of bug spray leak in our luggage. The wipes are individually wrapped and super easy to carry in a backpack or even your pockets.  Something like this: https://a.co/d/4ON1gjj

We were eaten alive by bugs on Bimini while exploring the island, so if you are leaving the beach club area, you will want bug spray! 🙂
