jameslee Posted May 16, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2023 I plan to go to the Carnival Panarama but never gamble there before. Can I use my sign and sail card to deposit money via slots using my credit card. And is there any fee?
pe4all Posted May 16, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2023 Your sail and sign card is the only card you will use if gambling. You can place money in the machines via cash, or via "charging" money to your cabin account, which you can then pay via credit card (automatically charged the last night of cruise, along with any other expenses you had on the cruise) or cash. (at Guest Services). Once you place your card in the slot machine you will create a "bank" to which you can "deposit" the money you win from the machine, or withdraw money from your bank or cabin account. (not your credit card) There is an atm in the casino, and I have seen people get chits from the cashier's booth - I am sure there is a charge for doing those things. Have never done it, so can't help you there.
mz-s Posted May 16, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2023 Yes you can draw money out of your credit card on the slots using your S&S card. No there is no fee for doing this. Most/all the slot machines also have bill acceptors so if you prefer, you can feed the machines cash. It's up to you.
dallasdan Posted May 16, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2023 At the slot machine there is no fee to download money from your sail and sign card. At the table games they charge 3% fee. If you are trying to avoid the fee by downloading at the slot machine and then going to the tables, make sure and spin a few times on the slot machine first. Otherwise, they will lock your card and give you a scolding.

wemjam Posted May 16, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2023 PS: The first time you put your card in a machine you will set up a players bank with pin etc. You can then add money to your players bank via your sail and sign card (which draws from your on board account and however that is funded - credit card or cash). You will also cash out your players bank with your sail and sign card too. You take your card to the cage and tell them you want to cash out your players bank. They do not pay out change, only dollars. House keeps the change. Remember to cash out any money in your players bank the last night on the cruise. Anything you buy is deducted from your on board account, and any amounts you upload to your players bank as you play come from your on board account. weezal Posted May 17, 2023 #13 Share Posted May 17, 2023 Can I use my onboard account (Sail & Sign card) to get funds in the casino? Yes, there is no charge at the slot machines for using your onboard account card to access funds. For any transactions done at a table game or the Casino Cashier’s Desk, there is a small service fee of 3% each transaction. You can charge on your Sail & Sign card to play in the casino as follows: Non-event cruises: $5,000 USD per day Invite-only cruises (Premier / Ultra / Premier Plus / Getaway / Tournaments): $7,500 USD per day Elite cruises: $10,000 USD per day

The $500 is the limit of how much you can pre-purchase in cruise cash. Once on board you can use more gift cards to add to your sail and sign account if you wish. I play Carnival blackjack a lot (mostly on the Miracle, Radiance, and Panorama) and every time someone has asked to use their SS card to buy chips at the table the dealer has informed the player of the 3% fee prior to the purchase. If your dealer hasn't been telling you about this fee your dealer hasn't been doing his/her job correctly. If I want to buy chips at the table I first load my slot account with money from my SS card, take two or three spins on the machine, go to the cage, and empty out my slot account in cash. I then walk to the BJ table and use that cash to buy chips. Carnival does not collect a fee if you use your SS card that way.

I don't always use my S&S and I use cash most of the time but I have used my S&S card many times as well. Thanks again and that is great info.
