Excellent news!  Yes, I think we've all long-known that the good chairs /good locations are plentiful ... if you eliminate the hogged chairs.

I don't have any problem with someone sitting down for hours ... as long as they're actually USING the space. 

The library, really?  In my experience, that's always empty.  If I've ever been in the card room, I've forgotten.

I'm sure Royal has considered monetizing /reserving the chairs, but it would take staff and effort and would really bring on bad feelings.

I rarely have this problem as I don't have any interest in sitting close to the pool.  Generally, I'm looking for a lounger on the deck of above the pool and off in a corner away from the crowds.  However, I have seen that kind of hogging with the clam shells taken up even in remote locations by people who rarely use them.  On Navigator I watched a clam shell near where I had sat on a lounger for over two hours.  The occupant showed up about an hour into it exchanged some item for another (I couldn't tell what it was) and then left never to be seen again.  I moved on after the two hours as I can't sit still much longer than that but to me that is just the height of rudeness.

We've only moved a hogger's stuff a few times. Usually, we're gone before they ever come. Once, a couple showed up and claimed they were "their" chairs. I just told them to have a crewmember tell us to move. Never happened.

 

Point -- just move their stuff.

I was never able to get a lounge chair on the pool deck.  I just put my stuff on a chair that was to the side, went in the pool, then got my stuff.  One day I went upstairs and was able to find a lounge chair.  

 

I did not see any crew doing anything about people who put stuff on a lounge chair and disappeared.

On Nav, it's a combined library/card room, and it was surprisingly full on sea days, but then again it was chilly for 2 out of 3 sea days so while the pool deck was always full, so were the indoor spaces.

Just off Explorer last Sunday (4 June)  Chair hogs were everywhere, including in the Promenade where one woman was blocking 10 chairs at two tables until a crew member finally told her to stop.

I agree... despite the pink warning covers being put out, lots of beds were taken and remained unused for hours.

That's not being a chair hog.  You are actually in the chair.  

 

During the Wonder TA there were some towels on chairs in the Solarium, but most of the best spots actually had people in them and this was at 6 a.m.
