We are scheduled to be in Mazatlan 8:AM, can we make Mass at 9:AM?

We are on the the Solar Eclipse Cruise next year on the Discovery Princess.  We are scheduled to be in port at 8 AM.  While there are Masses all day long doing the 9AM might be nice.

 

Does anyone here have first hand experience with these logistics?  If you have first hand expertise I would be interested in hearing from you, please.

Just because you'll dock at 8am doesn't mean you'll get off the ship then. It has to clear and you then have to take a shuttle to get to the terminal.

I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you -- I almost never rush off the ship when we are first cleared (unless I have a tour with an early start time).  I'll have a leisurely breakfast and wait for the crush to clear. 

 

Ashland is correct about the shuttle in Mazatlan.  Mazatlan is a working port, and once you get off the ship, you have to take a shuttle to the Cruise Passenger Terminal.  You might be able to make it to the church by 9:00 a.m., but you might run a bit late.  My guess is that you can still make it in time for communion.

Are you fluent in Spanish?  I can sort of follow the Spanish language Mass because the Latin Mass  is sort of similar, but the homily is painful for me to sit through.

My wife understands Spanish but I don’t.

 

But is Sunday Mass, a beautiful place to worship and I am

pretty sure it will include a prayer for clear skies!

It is a beautiful house of worship!  And there are lots of nice restaurants around for lunch -- it is an easy walk over to Plaza Machado which has several restaurants.

In Mazatlan...we enjoy going to the Panama Bakery....great food and desserts.
