Turkish Delight Demonstration

Recommended Posts

Could be tricky as it is to be found everrywhere and is probably produced on a large industrial scale in facilities where health and hygiene rules would not allow visitors who were not staff so you may need to find a private cookery/confectionary course.  We have seen some being delivered to stalls and stores and the deliveries arrived in huge boxes from large vans so unlikely most places will make their own.

There will be video demonstrations on YouTube which you can watch.

Next best thing? Should you want to visit the store where Turkish Delight/Lokum originated,HAKI BEKIR  it is close to the entrance/exit at the lower level of the Spice/Egyptian market  so you may well be close to it anyway..Tthey have more than one outlet.  Of those, you would be looking for the one close to the Spice/Egyptian market which should be easiest for you to find without having to go out of your way..

If exiting the market turn right and walk along until you see the shop on the right hand side.  If outside opposite and facing the  entrance/exit to the Spice/Egyptian market, turn left then cross the street to the opposite side.Tthe full adress will be found online. The shop is quite small but has interesting exhibits inside.  Plus lots and lots of flavours. Probably some of the best quality in town, but  for that quality it is more expensive.
