dmac Posted June 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2023 Are taxis readily available at the Motril cruise port ? Anyone know the cost for a ride to the Alhambra and return to port? (yes, we have tickets for Alhambra, just trying to figure out the most efficient transportation) Thanks in advance.
Rare marazul Posted June 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2023 According to Taxi Motril, it is 70 euros one way for the 50 mile trip. (And you would have to find a taxi to take you back.) http://taximotril.es/index.php/servicios They also have a 3 hour, round trip service for 115-130 euros. That leaves you 1 hour to visit the Alhambra, which is not even enough to scratch the surface. You need a good 3-4 hours INSIDE the Alhambra to visit. Write to them for a quote for a longer trip. radio@taximotril.com
Rare Harters Posted June 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2023 Certainly agree with marazul about the 3 - 4 hours needed. It's several years since we were last there but my recollection is that there were taxis outside the Alhambra, so getting one for the return should be OK. But the cost is going to be whatever is on the meter or, alternatively, exercising your Spanish to negotiate a price before you getting in the cab
BubbaBoat Posted August 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2023 We arrive in Motril on October 9th via NCL Prima. We are looking at hiring a car at about $65 (plus cab fare from port to the marina to pick up the car, unless we can walk 🙂). We're headed to Frigliana which is only 30 to 40 minutes away and a great alternative to the long haul to Alhambra.

But neither is even close to the majesty of Alhambra. From Motril it is less than an hours drive to Alhambra.

Can't find any tours to purchase.
