Just wondered if we made our own way to Dover from the Midlands, would we be able to have free parking somewhere.

Having done this recently at Dover, I can report that it went very smoothly. Saga use CPS, who take the car from you at the terminal and it was only a few minutes walk to collect it on return. One advantage of self- driving is that you can arrive when you want (we were on board by 12.30) and are among the first to disembark.

But on the downside, if you use Saga's included service it is their responsibility to get you to the ship on time. If you drive yourself the responsibility is your own. Not a great consideration if you live close to the port, but a significant one if you live at some distance.

Thank you for this, any idea when they would pick you up from Southampton for Dover and how long it takes mid week.
