Crown Skywalkers question

What are the current rules for age requirements to be in Skywalkers?  I’m not asking drinking age, I’m just asking if there are any specific times that 20 year olds get kicked out?  What is there for a 20 year old to do at night when the rest of the adults and family members over 21 are hanging out there dancing? I thought it was 18 years old to physically be in there at night?

Nightclub is 18 and up. Drinking is 21 and up on US departures.

Casino is 18 and up

Shows

Game shows

Music in different lounges

All perfectly fine for 20 year olds.

They can do everything aboard except buy a drink - on US departures..

We are currently on the Crown and my 20 year old nephew was told he couldn’t be in Skywalkers unless he had a parent with him. What’s up with that?

I'm not trying to be rude, but could the over-21s in your group take turns hanging out with the 21-year-old so he/she is not alone every evening?  There are plenty of other things to do around the ship, and surely not everyone wants to spend every evening in the disco.

That's different.

We've sailed with my nieces with them 18, 19 and 20 and every time, the sign clearly stated 18 and up. When we sailed with them at 17 and 11/12ths, they were carded (so to speak) and about half the time, asked to leave, the other half security didn't care - just asked us to be circumspect..

I'm frankly quite surprised they're being asked to leave at 20, given everything adult on the ship is 18 and up, except drinking..  it's always been 18 and up for the nightclub, in my experience..

We are back and it is definitely 18 and up.  It just sucked that a crew member put a damper on their first nights.  After we confirmed with the Purser’s/guest services desk and Gean, the passenger services crew member, called Skywalkers and double confirmed, Gean gave us his card to flash if they had any more issues.  Gean, on the Crown, was the best guest services crew member and he helped with any issue we had, big or small.

Is Skywalkers used at all during the daytime hours?

On every Skywatcher-equiped ship we've ever been on, it's been our go-to place for peace and quiet during the day. Very occasionally a few loud people will cause us to leave, but by and large it's a great place to read on sea days.  Can't beat the views either.

Us too, and I can't wait to be there in just a few weeks.

More than once I have been enjoying a peaceful reading session in Skywalkers when the Pop Choir convened for a rehearsal.

On one cruise there was a large ballroom dance group who found Skywalkers to be a good place to practice in the afternoons.

And, as @lx200gps states, there are groups who feel that everybody wants to listen in on their conversation.

I agree that these are all exceptional events.

For official cruise line functions? Nope, not til 4:30/5pm when it becomes the Platinum, Elite, Suite "lounge" for 2 hours.

Otherwise, day time, it's open use. There's no bar service or anything.

Are light bites offered at all if you want to lounge in Skywalkers during the day? (Observation lounge on NCL had an area with some light bites).

I guess one could order food from the Medallion app but just wondering if they had a specific food area in there. Thanks!

No food service other than the Medallion

skywalkers is normally a great place to read a book undisturbed during the day...almost like a library and the vast majority of people who come in figure it out (assuming they are not totally oblivious to how quiet it is and how many people are reading)...of course there are always a few that do not care and come in and talk loud and destroy the serenity that the majority there were enjoying...when that happens you may as well leave as "serenity now" is not in their vocabulary.

Right! They can go to trivia games, Karaoke, Deck Parties or just go up and have pizza and ice cream, go to the show in Princess theater, go to Club Fusion when the DJ is spinning tunes....

Adagio is my favorite place for peace and quiet and to read or play quiet card games with friends.
