Overnight in Cairo

If taking an optional tour on an overnight in Cairo, would you recommend the Nile cruise or the pyramid sound and light show?

What time of day is the Nile cruise, and what kind of boat?

 

I've done both. The Sound and Light Show is kind of cheesy but also fun. On our tour, the Nile cruise from Cairo was offered as a breakfast and it was not great. There was so much early morning mist that the landscape was nearly obscured during the first part of it. Also, the Nile near Cairo isn't exactly the Nile as most imagine it. You have to do a Nile cruise from Luxor to get that.

 

Perhaps if you're talking about a sunset sail on a fellucca, that would be a different story....

We were in Egypt last month and the Sound and Light show was not operating. The word was that it had shut down “temporarily” but none of our guides could tell us when it would be open again.

We were in Egypt in October. We attempted to watch sound and light show from a rooftop restaurant ( amazing view) but although we tried 2 x both nights it didn’t operate.  So if you know it’s happening Then I suggest choosing one of the many rooftop restaurants and enjoy an amazing view .  Personally even without the light show I was amazing experience.
