Taxi cost- per person or per ride?

We are a family of 4, and would like to go to the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman.  Their website says taxis are $10-20 per person one-way; which makes booking with the cruiseline seem a bit more palatable.  But most posts I am reading here and on other boards say the taxis are $10-20 per trip, which is much less.

Does anyone have current information on whether taxis in Grand Cayman charge per person?

It depends on what you take and how many are in your group.

An actual taxi all to yourselves will be about $45 usd for up to 4 people to go from Royal Watler cruise terminal to the Turtle Center.  Additional passengers would be $7 usd pp more.

However, there are also what I call shuttle taxis that do the cruise port to SMB trip back and forth all day, they’re shared ride mini vans.  You might be able to negotiate a different price with one of them to get them to drop you off after they drop people at the beach.

You shouldn’t have any trouble finding a taxi at the port, but you’d have to prearrange with them for the return trip.  The caves are fairly far outside of town, at least half an hour from the port on a good traffic day.  Leave lots of time for the return trip.  IMO, a better option is a rental car, or an excursion that includes a stop at the caves.
