TAP Air - short layover

Hi - I'm looking at a flight on TAP Air from Miami to Venice. The flight has a stopover in Lisbon, but it's only 1 hour and 10 minutes. According to the schedule, where we land and takeoff again will be in the same terminal. Do you think this is ok, or should I look for a flight with a longer layover? I never imagined I would fly this airline, but the price is right.

The key questions are

- are you flying in a day or more ahead of your cruise in case of any delays?

- what if your flight out of Miami is delayed - then what are you connecting flight options?

- what is the minimum connection time in Lisbon?

Short connections are always risky,.

There's only one terminal in Lisbon. Seems there are more planes than open gates. When we took TAP from BOS to LIS, we landed somewhere way out on the tarmac and had to bus to the terminal.  Then on our return via Rome, we did get a gate in Lisbon. But our return to BOS required another very long bus ride to meet our plane. Due to heavy flight traffic, we had a 1.5 hour delay before taking off. Even though we flew Execuitive class, not impressed with TAP.

This is not uncommon at many major airports.

This is also not uncommon.

This will be your Schengen entry. I'll assume you've verified your Schengen admissibility and whether you'll need an ETIAS. For planning purposes, you need to assume at least half an hour for Immigration and be pleasantly surprised if it's less, unpleasantly surprised if it's more.

1h 10m doesn't leave much for contingencies.
