Where is a good place to buy vanilla while in St Marten??

Try Costco in your home town if you're a member. They have some great "real" vanilla.

If you're up around Orient Beach, there a shack called Ma Doudou in Cul de Sac which sell good vanilla.  I think it's available in Phillipsburg as well.  Try the shop across from the Ralph Lauren store, they have a lot of different things there.  Not sure on prices.

Vanilla from different islands/Central America countries tastes different than what we have available in the States. I love trying the different vanillas.

Find a grocery store as opposed to a souvenir shop to get the same bottle of vanilla at a fraction of the price.
