cruiseracer Posted July 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2023 Looking for reliable information on the ships that have either Pokerpro electronic tables or live cash games. I've 'heard' that Carnival is moving away from the Pokerpro tables and back to live dealer games. I've also heard that all player to player games are being eliminated. Can anyone provide 1st-hand info? Thanks!
AllenF Posted July 10, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2023 Just got off the Pride and if they had Texas Hold-em I never found either version live or Pokerpro tables.
dallasdan Posted July 10, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2023 The pokerpro table has been removed from the Miracle and Breeze. There are no live dealer games that I am aware of on Carnival.
Rare ibarrio Posted July 10, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2023 (edited) On the Panorama it's the PokerPro electronic table in the Heroes Tribute bar located just outside the casino. I hope they move away from the electronic table as it was a horrible player experience. Edited July 10, 2023 by ibarrio
dallasdan Posted July 10, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2023 Back in 2006 Carnival had Texas Hold EM with a live dealer. I wish they would go back to it but I don't see where there is room in the casinos.

john91498 Posted July 14, 2023 #9 Share Posted July 14, 2023 We were on the radiance and the poker table was full every single night. Too bad they are trying to axe poker. For some reason, even Vegas is closing all their poker tables.

But the Horseshoe (Ballys) just renovated & expanded their poker room. It is still going strong in the upscale casinos--Aria, Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian, Wynn.

Same as in every single poker room in the country. Also there are not any profitable pros playing the 1-3 game. They are playing bigger games. I can't speak for all LV poker rooms, but fwiw, the buy-in for Wynn's $1-$3 has been $100-$500 for at least a decade. But your point stands about not having to worry about too many "pros" in a $1/$3 game.
Rare ibarrio Posted July 15, 2023 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2023 Poker is not going anywhere. The WSOP just set a record for the $10000 main event. 10043 players entered
islandtime21 Posted March 27 #13 Share Posted March 27 I was on the Carnival Panarama recently and they had one PokerPro table in the Hero's bar next to the casino. We kept if full and there was lots of action - players are not on cruises to not spend money ...or to fold. It was great fun.
islandtime21 Posted March 27 #14 Share Posted March 27 We are planning a trip on the Jubilee in May - I hope they have at least one PokerPro table. I have been disapointed on some of the other ships when told they have poker but then find out it is just video poker or the carnival games (3-card poker, ultimate holdem, etc) and the Carnival rep who told me they had poker just did not know the difference. Bob NC Posted March 27 #15 Share Posted March 27 The Poker Pro $1 - $3 tables always seem to be full of players who have no poker in their home state and they are more than happy to call EVERY hand just to have some action. Bad beats are the norm, not the exception. Last time I played a Carnival Electronic table a group of us talked the casino host into setting up a table for a tournament. It was at an afternoon time that the table would normally be down. Myself and one other made it to the last hand, both of us were all in. I had quad 8's, then he turned over quad 9's. My electronic poker games are over,
Rare KKB Posted March 27 #16 Share Posted March 27 On the Splendor last month the table was full later most evenings. I had 2 runner runner suck outs--on consecutive nights; decided I was done. Did well at the TX Hold Em Ultimate table game. Hard to get on early in the cruise, even with 2 tables. But the last 3 nights I played about 10 hours total & broke even. Racked up some nice points.

calgaryhhr Posted September 14 #18 Share Posted September 14 Regarding the digital/electronic hold'em tables, do they contribute to the casino player program? I was on Mardi Gras, I believe it was, previously and played a few nights and many hundred dollars but I don't think I saw any benefit when it came to the casino program and probably could have increased status by putting that money into a slot machine. I'll be on Panorama soon and I wonder if I should just stay away from the digital table. Someone had mentioned to me that the digital poker table is not actually considered to be part of the casino. dallasdan Posted Monday at 05:02 PM #20 Share Posted Monday at 05:02 PM They are slowly removing the Poker Pro tables from all ships. I was on the Magic last month and they did not have a table. Playing at the Poker Pro tables doesn't get you any points in casino. The most you would get is the casino host would buy a round of drinks.
