ragethjj23 Posted July 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2023 Starting to plan our trip for next June. We are staying at Disney for 5 nights prior to our cruise on adventure if the seas. Is there a shuttle service that picks up at Disney resorts? We are traveling with a 5yo and would like to avoid having to bring a car seat (if we had to use Uber). Any suggestions? JohninDC Posted July 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2023 Unless the shuttle provides a car seat you will need to bring one - can you 5 year old use a booster seat? There are inflatable models that do not take up much room. The airline will check any car seat for free if you choose not to use it on the flight. You could take Disney transport back to MCO to catch any of the shuttles listed above, or rent a car one way from WDW to PC area.
cruisegirl1976 Posted July 20, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2023 Cruise Control Transportation, they picked us up at a Universal hotel and brought us to a hotel in cocoa beach.. great service and great communication. We did book a private shuttle.

There is no more "Disney transport" if you mean the complimentary Magical Express service.

She would be fine in a booster, but in Florida car seats are not required for shared transportation (like a shuttle). I didn’t want to drag the car seat along onto the ship, which is why I was looking for some sort of shuttle service. Disney doesn’t offer transportation anymore, so I would have to take sunshine fliers back to the airport and would like to avoid that if possible. CruisingCruiser77 Posted July 22, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2023 On our last cruise we booked with The Genie Transportation. They're a smaller company that does mostly transportation between WDW, MCO, and Port Canaveral. They only provide private transportation in full-size SUVs but the cost for 6 of us was less than taking the DCL shuttle so it was a no-brainer. Cars were new, clean, and they provided car seats for free which looked brand new. Highly recommend them!

There is Mears which is the same company as the former Magic Express available for a small fee.

Yes, which is not the point I was making. For the OP to pay a "small" (read: on sale, $15/adult and $12/child) fee to get back to the airport and then travel to the port is a waste of time and money.

Better than $100 ride share and no worries about car seats.
ragethjj23 Posted July 23, 2023 Author #12 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Thanks for the responses. I think the inflatable booster is the way to go (I guess I never knew that was a thing). Then it would be pretty easy to just Uber from Caribbean beach to the cruise port.
