Cabanas on Ocean Cay

I have a cabana booked for my cruise in September on Ocean Cay. I have heard two different comments on how they give out the cabana's. Do they preset which one you will get before you get on the Island or is it 1st come first serve, I was told they have your name on the one you reserved? Also do you check in somewhere when you get off ?

Thank you in advance.

As you approach the beach where the cabanas are, there is a desk set up. You go to that desk and they tell you which cabana you are assigned to and they give you your towels and floating mats. The cabanas are numbered, so you find the number they tell you. I don't recall names being printed/displayed anywhere on the cabana, though I did see that some people had printed out their own signs for large groups.

Are Yacht Club cabanas assigned by the Concierge? I have one reserved, should I inquire when I first board? Thanks.

Yes. If there is a specific one that you want, ask the concierge to put you in that one. If nobody else already has it, you'll get it.

Sailing to Ocean Cay for the first time in January.
We are thinking about booking a cabana, I see they have "Regular" Cabanas and 2 different options for Yacht Club Cabanas. We are looking at the "Regular" Cabanas, are they all located on the same beach, or spread out around the island on different beaches? If they are all located on 1 beach, which beach is that? Are they generally located near bars/food/restrooms/etc?

What is the cost for a cabana on Ocean Cay?????

I can only see the Canadian Dollar prices so you'll have to do the conversion..
Regular Cabana $323 CAD
Yacht Club Ocean View $515 CAD
Yacht Club Beach Front $579 CAD

The non-YC cabanas are spaced out about 20 yards apart all along the South Beach and Pinapple Beach (highlighted in red). I was surprised to see how far apart they all are.

I noticed something a bit off with US prices.....

I'm seeing Regular Cabana - $252

Yacht Club Ocean View - $402

Yacht Club Beachfront - $452

...it's as if prices are $3 higher for my next sailing.

It's a good thing that I booked early. 😉

I feel like it is important to point out that, while the website will let you book a YC Cabana if you are not in the Yacht Club, it will be canceled once you are onboard. Non-YC guests do not have access to YC cabanas. It is a technical limitation of the website that anyone is able to book them online.

It is true that the site will let anyone book one but it does say "YC GUESTS EXCLUSIVE" in big letters and "...exclusive for guests booked in a Yacht Club cabin." in the additional notes.

I don't think that anyone actually books one by "mistake" if they aren't in the Yacht Club. :classic_blink:

I find their website to be full of glitches like this, also a lot of dead links, I clicked on the Download MSC For Me APP link from my booking email, and got "oops this page does not exist". There was also a link for some bonus points that didn't work either.
My wife's online account will not display her Voyager Club number, and when she tries to add it, it says its not the correct number, and if she clicks sign up it says she already has a number.

I read of someone on these boards who mistakenly booked a YC cabana and then came on here after the fact to complain that their cabana booking had been canceled once they were onboard.

I had a similar issue recently and it was because somehow my middle name had gotten added to the first name field of my Voyager Club account? I was able to get it resolved by emailing MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com and providing all the correct information.

Yeah, I don't recall the sign up process exactly, if there was a middle name field or not, but both of our accounts have 1st and middle name as the first name. I believe our middle names are required because they are on our passports as well.

My wife tried emailing them weeks ago, I don't remember their exact reply, but it was something to the tune of "we don't see anything wrong with your account". 🤣

I saw the same. I don't believe that it was truly an accident. I suspect that the person wanted YC for a day with only a $150-$200 premium over a standard cabana. Why else would someone pay more than what the standard cabana cost?

Last April on the Mera, I checked w/ the YC Concierge to request Cabana #5. He had us written down for Cabana #2 at the end farthest from the Ocean House. I said, "OK, we'll make it work, no worries."

Day of arrival, we check in at the Ocean House to be escorted to our Cabana and the attendant informs us we are in Cabana #5 and the Butler will escort us there!

I love the pampering in the YC.

One more MSC glitch to add to the list, I emailed MSCVoyagersClub@msccruisesusa.com to try and fix my wife's Voyager Club issue. I received the confirmation email with a link to  to visit MSC Voyagers Club - Overview for more  information regarding The MSC Voyagers Club! Click the link and you get "Oops, looks like this page is cruising right now"
