Celebration - Free specialty dining reservations

For the complimentary specialty (Cucina, Chibang, etc), I get the fact that those with assigned dining times can eat there from 7:45 pm on.  But does that mean that we can make reservations when the reservation window opens (just for 7:45 on) or do we have to actually wait until 7:45 to make a reservation?

We always choose YTD, but I believe I've read that you actually have to wait until 7:45 to request a table because it's based on when tables become available and not actually a set reservation time.  It works the same way with YTD, except YTD can request a table as soon as the window opens. With YTD, you request a table and you are notified when your table is available.

Not really a reservation system for YTD on the MG or Celebration.  Instead you check in when you are ready, and they notify you when your table is available.  The wait times vary from minutes to an hour or more.  Those who eat early or late have a much shorter wait.

You have to wait until 7:45 to access the check-in function.

It starts at 5:30 and ends at 7:45 so if you ask for a table at 5:00 or even 5:25 it will go though and notify you when the tables ready. But starting at 5:30 it won’t allow you to even check to see if there are any tables open for you. At promptly 7:45 it will open back up again and allow you  to ask for a table. It’s really not a reservation system like with Bonsai Teppanyaki or the steak house. You’re just requesting the first available table which can take 5-10 minutes or an hour depending on how busy they are. Check the app frequently because they will only hold the table for 10 minutes once it’s available.

So who’s eating there from 5:30 - 7:45?  No way to request or dine during those times?  Or if you request at 525, you may be dining anytime from 530 on?
