I assume you are contemplating Transatlantic from USA to British Isles. The Starboard side has more sun on Eastbound sailings as those balconies face South. A balcony is important on Transatlantic voyages because when the ship is at sea, nobody is wandering round the port and if sunny almost everybody will want to be out on deck so space there becomes a premium.
