First time in an NCL suite

We were on the Star a long time ago, 2009, and in the Garden Villa for an Alaskan cruise.

Things may have changed, but we enjoyed exceptional service from our concierge, butler and steward. There are all the usual NCL suite perks such as priority boarding, priority escorts, preferred seating for shows, ease of dining reservations, etc, etc.

What we most enjoyed was the very personalized service. Our "trio" really took time to get to know us and went over and above to offer everything that would be "special". Some of that may have been unique to the time (2009) or the class of suite we were in, but it was awesome. We had a private ship tour, and we enjoyed an amazing in-suite dinner with menu items from Cagney's - our steward and butler worked together on that and it was so memorable.

There is a thread here that lists all of the NCL suite perks and I'll try to find it for you.

Happy cruising!

Suite life on the Star is different from the thread posted above as there is no Haven, thus no private area or restaurant.

With that said though you still have butler and concierge services (afternoon treats, ability to have meals delivered to room, primary boarding, etc.).

Too late to edit but need to add for breakfast and lunch you have the option to eat in Cagney's where they'll have a Haven type menu.  Cagney's is opened at these time only for suite guest.

For your evening meal you'll eat in the MDR or one of the specialty restaurants - you are not given extra specialty restaurant credits to make up for the lack of the Haven restaurant

Thank you very much for your clear and concise information . The Haven does not seem to exist on our older ship so your message seems to get to the point more quickly to our slower , older minds . 🙂😊

We were on the Star about 9 months ago but it was for a Transatlantic going to Brazil so not your average cruise.  The food was very middle of the road not quite Olive Garden quality in the MDR or the Buffets, the cruise director was the worst we have ever seen  and the overall  cruise was very disorganized.  Promised returned messages and calls just never happened..

Overall the experience and our next planned cruise on the Epic being cancelled and the great offers of 25% off and 10% off compared to the increased rates just have turned us off or cruising for now we can get a much better deal visiting Portugal a week with airfare and a couple of meals is less than 1/2 the price of a cruise and we just don't eat that much to make up the difference.
