Minibar refreshed in V1, V2 category

V1 and V2 do not get the minibar refreshed. Only DV and above. You can request it to be filled the first time with whatever flavors you like but after that refills would be chargeable. Typically they have tonic already stocked (lots of gin drinkers?) You can however grab an extra can of soft drinks from the WC and put it in your fridge yourself.

Thanks,

We were on the Star in 2017 and that is what I remembered.

There is no specific information that V1 & V2 do not get their minibar refilled currently. You would have thought that they had rethought that very small detail. (We mostly cruise Oceania and they refresh daily, even in the lower categories.) Such a small nit-picking detail in an upscale line! As you say, there are work-arounds and other than a few cans of tonic water, we are not pop drinkers.

Not to nitpick, but the DV and above category descriptions say
"replenished once daily" while the V categories do not make that statement (overly subtle, perhaps). It is one of the very few perks they have to get someone to pay the extra $100-ish a week to get a DV6 over a V1/2. (The others are of course selecting excursions earlier and the location). For our money DV6's are actually the best locations. To each their own of course.

just curious.  Why do you prefer a DV6 location?

We've booked a V2. Could we request certain soft drinks pre cruise and how would we go about this? Otherwise perhaps we could ask for a couple of changes on arrival.

I’ve never requested it pre-cruise but once you arrive inform your room stewards. They will convey the information to the food service staff and will typically change it before turndown on the first night.

BTW We don’t use coffee pods (coffee is available 24/7 in the WC) so for some extra shelf space you can request the coffee machine removed.

That's good to know. We won't have a coffee machine in V2 but will be sure to get any soft drinks we don't drink swapped.

Good Luck. We have never been successful in having this done. Not a big deal, we just asked at a bar at lunch for our preferred soda and replaced them ourselves.

Every time we’ve stayed in a V cabin we had the drinks replace with the ones we wanted by just asking the steward.
Every time we’ve stayed in a DV cabin we left  a note in the fridge stating the soft drinks we wanted and the fridge was restocked everyday with the soft drinks we requested.

Also, every time we’ve stayed in a DV cabin we have asked the steward to remove the coffee maker. We never coffee makers because I don’t trust the cleanliness AND there is good coffee available in the WC.

Agree with you, about the DV but that hasn't been our experience when we have been in a V
