Using a transfer lift on ship

Wondering if anyone has taken a lift for transfers from wheelchair to bed and back to wheelchair on a cruise ship.  Any experience taking one on an airplane?

We rented one from specialneedsatsea in Fort Lauderdale. It might not count as mobility equipment fir airline travel. I honestly don’t know. Flying it based on weight/size could be pricey.

It would probably be a better idea to rent one from the cruise line provider.  It will be waiting when you get on board, and then you'll leave it there.

You might do a search on this board for hoyer.    There have been other discussions about this.

 

Consider renting one from Scootaround or Special Needs at Sea.  

If you're staying at a hotel before your cruise, they can even deliver one to your hotel room.

We rented a scooter from Scootaround for a cruise out of Barcelona.   And they do have Hoyer lifts so they may be a place to start.
