Does Celebrity offer anything special to casino players?

We aren't big gamblers but enjoy blackjack playing every night either before and/or after dinner. Recently on a HAL cruise a lady we often met at the table told us that she deposited a certain amount of money (maybe $1500?) in a casino account before the cruise. So when she went to play they drew from that account. In return, HAL gave her a comped drinks package. Ever hear of such a thing with Celebrity?

We have not been on Celebrity in years, but when we were they would come by and offer a free dinner in the speciality restaurant or free drinks

Celebrity casino hosts no longer do that. What they will do is tell you to is to speak with the Casino host on the LAST day of the cruise and they will review your play and see how much onboard charges can be wiped off. If you're friendly with the casino host, and you're playing BIG from the start of the cruise, you can speak to the casino host the first couple of days to see if, for example, they could comp a wifi package or wifi upgrade. Even in this instance they tell you to go ahead and purchase the plan and they will go into your account and wipe the charges. They no longer 'offer' things but instead you have to proactively ASK for whatever you want.

We aren't big specialty restaurant attendees, we feel Celebrity's MDRs are good enough for us. What we will do then is on the last day of the cruise ask the casino host to review my husband's play for the entire cruise and see how much OB charges can be wiped out. We've been do this for the last couple of years, and it generally amounts to $200-$400 depending on how well he was doing. What we then do is go to the gift shops and buy stuff to bring home;clothes, mugs, bags, etc. We make sure we know the EXACT amount the host is willing to wipe off and we usually can work out the purchases within pennies of our spending limit.

On one of the last cruises we were on I saw a lady that had over 30,000 points and she told me that she got free suites, and they would eat in the speciality restaurants every night - her husband did not gamble.

I knew I would never gamble that much, but she was in the casino every sea day and every night playing.
