Monthly payment plan options through Affirm

Just priced a cruise up out of interest, on the US site and noticed that they are offering a pay monthly option, ranging from 0% APR to 15% APR.

I’ve seen that option for awhile.

This is generally a terrible option as you have to get a hard pull and it opens a trade line.  Also if you have the right credit cards that earn extra points/miles for travel purchases you'd miss out on that.  Lastly, if you use a credit card and something awful happens where X doesn't compensate, you can try and do a charge back although you do risk getting blacklisted

Thankfully not available in the UK market. I was just shocked to see the option. You may as well deposit the money in a savings account, get some ATM descent interest and pay the full balance when it's due.

If you have to mortgage your vacation, just stay home. Start a vacation savings account and wait until it’s affordable.
