We just received an e-mail from Virgin Voyages that they have issued a refund for our cancelled sailing even though we submitted a request to rebook.  Did this happen to anyone else?

Do you think it is because your rebooking was unsuccessful and that's how they are dealing with them. Instead of asking if you like a second choice, it's all or nothing?

I'm not sure, but I really hope it's not all or nothing.  We paid in full already.  I did reply to the e-mail this morning, telling them that I did not request a refund and asking if they rescinded the offer to rebook.  I have not received a response yet.  I also let my travel agent know, hoping they'll get more information.  This is the first time we've booked with Virgin Voyages and this is not leaving a pleasant taste in my mouth.

What sailing did you pick? Is your cabin category sold out?

Most likely your sailing was not available so they simply offered a refund. If you are working with a TA, they might be able to work with their VV rep to get that switched back to the offer, but you need to act quickly.

The sailing is definitely available, including the same stateroom category.  I was able to place a hold for the same stateroom category and there were still plenty of available staterooms.  I've already replied to the refund e-mail and let our TA know.  As of this morning, I have not received a reply.

Glad to see some people have received their rebooking. I submitted my form for rebooking from the cancelled BL TA  on Friday evening, so hopeful I’m in the queue for today. Keep getting updating messages on the app. But the TA still shows up as booked on the website. I’ll be happy with either $600 loot or bar tab….just not $1200 bar tab for one person😏

Just a heads up on rebooking. It seems VV opened up booking on a chartered cruise for a short time on Monday. March 16-23 BL now VL out of San Juan. Someone on our cancelled BL Facebook group was able to rebook on it and I’m seeing more folks on the main groups that have booked. I’m sure anyone that didn’t book through the charter is going to have to rebook.

Success for us.

Our TA who was back to work today spent most of the day on call with virgin to chase our rebooking.

Suffice to say that we are now cruising on the same ship, Resilient lady from Barcelona to Athens in October 24. Going from a seriously suite to a brilliant suite with no extra charge as part of the guarantee given on Friday. So a wee win for us cruising two extra days in a bigger cabin. But we are still waiting to see if our friends have been successful.

Our TA is also coming as she could get a sea terrace for £1200 per cabin and get the new promotion of $900 sailor loot.

Fingers crossed for our friends and anyone else waiting to hear

When I got the hold confirmation, it was listed as bar tab but once I got the final confirmation and log into their website, it shows it as sailor loot.

Our confirmation has “Sailor Loot” in big bold letters, but under it it says Bar Tab.  I had an online chat this morning with SS.  She couldn’t fix it, but escalated the issue and said they’d get it fixed.  We really want this as loot.  We don’t need more bar tab.  😂

The sailing we wanted didn’t show up on the form until Monday.  We tried calling over the weekend but were told to submit on Monday 🤦🏼

So trying to trust the process. We submitted for a French Daze & Ibiza nights in May.  The short Caribbean sailings are useless to us, like others not flying for that short of a sailing.

Our extra challenge (potentially) is that we were booked under a casino rate.    Waiting not so patiently for our confirmation.

i do wish you could see on the website what cabins are still available in any given category.   If anyone has guidance on how to do that would be appreciated.

Yes we were one of the ones they allowed to book.  I only discovered it was a chartered cruise when I went to find the group on FB.  It would have been a fun trip but we decided to move to the next week assuming they would cancel our booking.  luckily they had our same cabin type on the san juan to miami sailing.  but wish we could have kept the 3/16 itinerary.  Also would have been a blast to be on a chartered gay cruise. we are hetero couple but would have still had fun I am sure

Yes that sailing is an Atlantis Gay charter cruise.

Don't expect to hear within the 7 day window "promised". I just got off phone with VV (surprisingly got through right away) and agent checked with Displacement Team and said I should expect confirmation between 9/19 and 9/23....

FYI - submitted my rebooking form 9/8 - 6:40 p.m.

When did they put in their request?

Same day as us. Friday afternoon when we read people have submitted their forms on Thursday rather than wait till Monday.. They received an email saying they were downgraded so they called Virgin who said it was mistake and they got the same cabin category

Just got my rebooking confirmation! The app still isn't right, but I can log into my account on the website again and it's there.

In case it's of interest to anyone, I got my e-mail with the booking hold at 9:02 am (central time) on Friday. My TA was the one who handled everything so I'm not sure how/if that coincides with the form.

I, too, am confirmed. The app and account on the computer are restored. New sailor loot and extra credits applied. I do not have a TA. My initial contact with VV was via phone on Friday, September 8th, at 8:00 a.m. Eastern to ask about the price difference since our cabin category wasn't available on the desired sailing.
