Wildlife in Northeast Canada/New England

Depends on your excursions.  We just drove a few hundred miles in Maine, on highways and backroads, and didn't see anything.

We have seen moose in the past just off the side of the road, or on hikes in the woods, along with bears.  No binoculars required

We saw bald eagles outside of Halifax, and river otters or seals (there was debate on this!) also.

a pair of binoculars would have been nice, but there wasn’t (on our cruise) a naturalist pointing out “look at whale off port side” etc, as they usually do on Alaska cruises, so you’d maybe be on your own to know when and where to look….

We are cruising from Quebec to Boston, with stops in Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Portland, and Bar Harbor. How much wildlife is typically visible in that area? Deciding if I want to pack the binoculars?

Hi there RN Prof! I’ll be doing same cruise in reverse next summer. Did you take your binoculars? I’m a birder, so I’m definitely taking mine. What did you end up seeing?

thanks!
Kellie
