Leave night before debarcation?

Flights leave at 2:00am. Is there any problem leaving ship early to make this flight?

What port?

If you are overnighting   then probably no problem 

You may have to carry off your own luggage ?

Depends  on time it takes to clear port authorities and arrangements may need to be made with ship security since personnel still needs to scan card.

My rule of thumb is at least 6 hours from scheduled docking to scheduled takeoff, but if a passenger were to go overboard the night before docking and had to be searched for, or fog, or customs officer strike, or dock workers strike..., or..., or..., or..., it wouldn't be good enough.  Have a Plan 'B'.

 

In your case, I wouldn't worry much about O not being willing to accommodate you unless the ship hadn't docked yet or hadn't cleared customs yet.  Also: are you sure transportation is readily available at 2am?

We had two overnights in NYC due to Hurricane Lee.  We could not leave on Saturday instead of the normal Sunday morning. Front desk said it was due to customs

Although passengers were allowed to leave on Friday morning after our immigration/customs check. Ship personnel were clear that we would not be allowed to disembark on Saturday. So we could leave two days early but not one day early. Not exactly sure why but at least we had good communication.

It was strange. When we left this morning no one checked our passports or luggage.
