Alaska—Sapphire or Grand?

Looking at the 14 day Glacier Voyage next year on either Grand or Sapphire. Same itinerary, which would you choose and why?

I'm a bigger fan of the Sapphire.

The closets on the Grand are sometimes smaller, depending on the cabin you get.

I also like the way the Sapphire is layed out. The Grand just doesn't do it for me.

 

[Coral]

Sapphire. Just a bit newer. Has Skywalkers and a wider promenade deck. Built in Japan. Better shipyard than Italy.

 

I would sail either but would go with Sapphire if given a choice.

You didn't mention the Coral, and that would be first choice, because smaller is better in Alaska. Yes, it too goes to Glacier Bay. Otherwise agree with previous posters for their reasons.

Coral is doing a World Cruise next year.

Sapphire. Love the extra wide Promenade that has room for loungers rather than just chairs and still has plenty of room for the folks walking. Also, as mentioned above by @Sillyjilly the closets on Grand are smaller. Grand also has a truncated midship stairway that only goes a very short way up.

We ended up booking the Sapphire, since it was a pretty clear favorite. Thanks, all!
