Kona Car Rental

Hi, We will be visiting Kona in January 2024. I was hoping to hire a car for the day and see a little of the island. There appears, from Google searches and other replies to similar questions, to be car rental outlets within waling distance of Kailua Pier (Enterprise, Dollar etc) but when you go to their websites this location is either not recognised or shown as 'sold out'. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how/where to rent a car near the Kona tender pier?

Thanks for any recommendations or suggestions

We had rented a car from Hertz at the King Kamehameha Hotel right by the pier. It was so convenient. Call Hertz and check it out.

Did you use this rental location recently?  We used it in 2019 and it worked perfectly but it appears like it's closed now.

No, we haven’t used it recently. I think our last visit was in 2019 as well. Too bad it’s closed…

From the hotel's website today:

Thanks for sharing!  I'll definitely check into it through Hertz.

Edit: According to the Hertz website, there's only one location in Kona and that's at the airport.

LOL. Maybe an email to the hotel would help clarify the situation. If Hertz is correct, the hotel needs to update its website.
