surgie Posted October 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2023 We'll be in port from 1:00-10:00 on July 14. Family members will do different afternoon activities before meeting in town for dinner at 6:00 or so. After dinner some will take the tram and maybe do a short hike. In 2015 my husband and I ate at Tracy's Crab Shack and it was crazy with commotion besides expensive, even then. Looking for a different experience with 6 adults and 5 kids ages 5-11. We don't all have to sit together. Any suggestions that would be convenient to our plans?
Aquahound Posted October 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2023 Just go to the Hangar. It's a great atmosphere that is waterfront with a view of the ships. The chowder is delicious. One of my favorite downtown restaurants is Salt, but it is pricey.
Northern Aurora Posted October 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2023 I also suggest the Hanger on the Wharf. There is enough variety to satisfy adults and kiddos.
Italy52 Posted October 10, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2023 I agree that the Hanger is a good option. With such a large party, you might want to make a reservation. We spent a few days in Juneau right after Covid eased up and every night the place had a waiting line and reservations were definitely suggested. We had no real problems as we got our food "to go."
