Looking for a laundry ( either self serve or for a fee) where we can get laundry done in a few hours on turnaround day please?

Ā

Iā€™ve looked on google and there seems to be Wooloomooloo washouse, or Potts Point?Ā
Ā

Has anyone a personal recommendation?Ā

For convenience - and when you're only visiting for a short while, is probably the most important - I'd suggest this as the closest, very close by, and with a fair value offering.

Ā

Sydney Dry Cleaning and Laundry in The Rocks (washontherocks.com.au)

Ā

Potts Point - and Ultimo in the other direction - will be the residential areas with more laundromats, but with travel time, finding the location, setting up and collecting, you probably won't be able to do much else during the day.Ā

Ā

If it were me, I'd go for the above and then have the flexibility and convenience to do and explore more, and still be in the city with more options. Unless you didn't want to do anything else on your day in Sydney.

Yes, Potts Point is a nice area if you have the opportunity to explore. One you could consider is Macleay St Laundrette, which has been around for decades, and is in the more residential area.

Ā

If you do go with that plan and visit them, and want to take a walk while you wait, you could head down to Elizabeth Bay, through to Arthur McElhone Reserve (there's a side path beside 18 Macleay St), then either visit Elizabeth Bay House depending on day and if that appeals, or head on to either Beare Park or Rushcutter's Bay Park - both of which have scenic harbour and yacht views though RBP is better (more expansive), then head back possibly via either Bayswater Road or Roslyn St if you want to do a loop. Of course, there are many cafes around Macleay and Victoria Sts if you prefer to sit and wait instead.

Just wanted to report back and say thanks ! It all worked perfectly. We caught an uber to Macleay St, and got a full bag washed and fold for A$30! Whilst waiting we had a superb brunch and then walked down to Rushcutters and back.

Ā

So, we will use the same laundry šŸ§ŗ again on between cruises and turnaround dayĀ

Thanks @Anoynmous PhoenixĀ and @The_Big_M
