Mara4166 Posted October 16, 2023 #26 Share Posted October 16, 2023 Captain Andy married us on the Crown in 2011. Wonderful memories. Not certain about vow renewal at that price, but for a wedding, I highly recommend Princess

A little rocky tracking down the coordinator but she finally came through. Just out of curiosity and nosiness, why the need to renew the vows every 5 years? Are the vows only for 5 years at a time? (I went to a wedding where they agreed to marry "for as long as you both shall love". Is it something like that?) Did someone break them? Feel free to tell me none of my business. It's just curious to me.

Happy Cruising!
Rare jwattle Posted October 18, 2023 #31 Share Posted October 18, 2023 I'll chime in on the "seagulls"; some people (me included) fin it seriously romantic and endearing to re-dedicate oneself to one's spouse at sea, especially when the captain uses words like "your love is deeper than the ocean surrounding us", etc. Also, for us, it had special meaning, one of which was that he proposed on a thin finger of land on the Mendocino Headlands and likes to joke that if I had said no one of us was going in. I arranged our vow renewal and like to say that if he had said no one of us was going in. Some can sniff and snort and posture about and grimace about a waste of money; you spend your money on rum runners and what not; we'll spend ours on vow renewals, suites, and spoiling our grandkids, etc. As long as the bills are paid, do what brings you joy is my bottom line!
