Buying Wine in Southampton

Looking at the map, supermarket chain, ASDA, has a branch next to  West Quay. It should have a wider choice, and better prices, than a Marks & Spencer food hall.

Sunday opening hours for large retail outlets are restricted in the UK, so ASDA will be open 11.00 - 17.00.

In the same building as Moxy, around the front to the left, after Premier Inn is a Co-op Welcome grocery store with a half-decent selection.

Beyond the Welcome store use the second pedestrian bridge to cross into the West Quay Mall at a higher level for the M&S mentioned by @gumshoe958, a more up-market store with a wine section.

Or go past the Welcome store on your left & West Quay on your right & you come to the coach station. Use the white portico pedestrian door to the multi-storey carpark opposite the coaches & take an elevator up to the ASDA grocery store mentioned by @Harters (its the store's rear entrance). ASDA offers a good selection and is probably the best value in central Southampton.

If you want a specialist wine shop with knowledgeable staff carry on to the Majestic Wines mentioned by @WatchHillopposite the train station entrance. That's the furthest of them from the Moxy but still only about half-a-mile.

Thank you all.  We get to Southampton on Friday afternoon, so plenty of time to check out the stores.  ASDA looks like what we are looking for.  Saw it on the map but wasn't sure if it sold wine.

Cheers

We stayed at Moxy in August.  Walk out the front door and turn left. Walk to corner and cross the street.   You will see the mall in front of you. Walk up the little hill to the mall door. Inside look for M&S and Waitrose which is Inside  John Lewis store.  Under 5 min walk to west quay mall.

ASDA was on our way walking from Moxyy to train station.  Ask at Moxy desk. A 5 min walk.
