Single Cruises

Paul Gauguin Cruises is offering so good deals for singles (e.g., no single supplement) on certain cruises.... Have you been a single on one of their cruises? Do they have any special events for singles? Do they make any 'special arrangements' for singles at meals (e.g., tables set aside for singles ) .... I'm looking forward to going on one of the cruises, but I sure don't want to feel like a 'fifth wheel' .....

There are usually a handful of singles but remember FP is a place of romance so predominantly it's couples. At meals simply ask for a table where others are or can join you and then ask the Maître to send singles to your table. Sometimes the best way to make a friend is to be the initiator 😉

I concur with @Tahitianbigkahuna. We always ask for a “group table” so we can meet other cruisers. And there are always others who do the same…couples, singles, friends cruising together who want to mingle. You will not have to dine alone. 😁

I agree with both of your comments, but some cruise lines, e.g Holland America, typically sets aside a table for singles at lunch and at both of the dinner servings so singles can mingle ... they also occasionally have a number of 'single activities' e.g., trivia night ... but then the number of singles is much greater on bigger ships  .... I'm not worried about dining alone as there often is an 'odd' number at a table but given that PG is making a marketing decision to encourage single to travel (I have heard they have put 8 cabins aside for singles on certain cruises) I was just wondering what types of experiences other singles had had in the past, and if anything 'special' had been planned.....
