Looking for some Maui ideas after Haleakala Crater at Sunrise Tour

Hi, we're on an upcoming POA cruise in early 2024. For Maui, we are planning on doing the Road to Hana (private tour, no rental car) on day 1 and the Haleakala Crater at Sunrise Tour the following morning. Since the tour gets back at 9:30 AM on Monday morning and the ship does not leave until 6 PM that night, any recommendations on how we should spend the rest of our day (Beaches, any interesting excursions in the area without going more than 30 to 40 mins away from port via taxi/Uber on that day)? Thanks.

There isn't anything for visitors to do in Kahului (where the POA docks), so getting out of the area is the most logical move. In whatever research you are doing, have there been any places that sound interesting?

We did that this summer.  Road to Hana and then sunrise.  We got back closer to 10 and went to eat breakfast since we did not eat before catching the (I think it was) 3 am departure.  We took a nap and hung out at the pool.

Your schedule is really the best idea, as they may be more tired than they think they are.  It wouldn't hurt to take a nap to renew energy.

Just curious where you had breakfast?
